In order to offer the highest standard of service to M.O.B Event Services clients, Operations Manager Christopher Morris decided to study IOSH Managing Safely at Commodious and successfully attained his IOSH Managing Safely Certification. By strengthening his understanding of HSE Legislation and understanding the responsibilities and accountabilities for health and safety in the workplace will enable him to identify common workplace hazards, evaluate the situation and reduce the risk by applying risk control methodology. Christopher now has a vast amount of extra knowledge to add to his many years of experience within the industry.
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health is a global organisation for health and safety professional, making it the ideal place for Christopher to hone his skills in this area. The course covered several modules, including the following:
Assessing risks Controlling risks
Understanding responsibilities Understanding hazards
* Investigating incidents
Measuring performance the course enabled Christopher to reaffirm his skills in planning and managing risks in the workplace and offered him the opportunity to develop new methods of reducing risk and increasing safety and security for clients within the events and cooperate industry as well as other organisations.
Christopher said; “I have worked in the security industry for many years now and the experience I have gained has given me a real understanding of what works and what doesn’t.
The true value of studying IOSH Managing Safely at Commodious is found in the evaluation and management of workplace health and safety risks and the development of new strategies to manage them. The theoretical knowledge I have gained will be immeasurably useful in my mission to ensure the safety and security of my clients and the attendees of their events or premises.”
This course has helped M.O.B Event Services to shape the design and planning of their security services for future clients and has added increased structure to the roles and responsibilities of each individual involved.
